## Base data in VS Code, in short

- **Setup:** One-click install, sign in once. No API key needed.

## How do I get Base data in VS Code?

Connect StalkChain to VS Code once. After that, Base questions work in any chat.

1. **Connect:** Click Install in VS Code. VS Code opens the StalkChain server page. Click Install, then trust the server.
2. **Approve:** When VS Code asks to sign in, allow it. Sign in to StalkChain in the browser and press Approve. Free, no card.
3. **Ask:** Open Chat, pick Agent and ask in plain English. Allow StalkChain's tool calls when Copilot asks.

## What should VS Code know about Base data?

- **Spell the chain:** Pass chain: "base" (or 8453) to the FOMO tools, chain: "base" to wallet and price tools, and network: "base" to stalkchain_fomo_theses_for_token. Alerts need chain: "base" too: a 0x token with no chain defaults to Ethereum.
- **Buy sizes:** On a buy alert, usdValue is the position's mark after the fill, not the fill size. Use tradeUsd when present, or stalkchain_fomo_trade_detail (swaps[].humanUsdAmountIn) for the real buy size.
- **Feed coverage:** One alerts page is 100 items. Filtered to Base buys it covered about 23 hours today; unfiltered it covers roughly 10 minutes. Narrow by chain and type, and page with cursor for exactly-once resume.
- **PnL on Base:** PnL exists for tracked FOMO traders (positions, swaps, leaderboard). There is no on-chain PnL tool for a raw Base wallet: for an unknown 0x address use portfolio, transfers and age.
- **Tokens outside the directory:** Stats, devs and analysis need chain: "base" for tokens FOMO has not indexed, or the upstream returns 400. An empty devs list means no known dev holding, not that the token is safe.

## FAQ

### How do I connect VS Code to Base data?

Add StalkChain to VS Code (one-click install, sign in once), then ask a Base question in plain words. It takes about a minute and needs no API key. The same connection covers every other chain and source too.

### Can my AI see what tracked traders are buying on Base right now?

Yes. The multi-trader entries tool groups the Base buy feed by token and counts distinct tracked traders, so one call answers which tokens three or more of them entered in a window. Today it returned EDEL with 14 traders and STONKEX with 6. Pass chain base so the 100-alert page covers hours instead of minutes.

### Does StalkChain do deployer, sniper and rug checks on Base?

Not on Base. Deployer history, early buyers, bundler share, exit quotes and wash-trade scores are Solana-only tools. On Base you get the deployer's and insiders' own positions from FOMO, the age and funding transfers of any suspicious 0x wallet, and the token's metadata and price.

### Can I get PnL for any Base wallet?

For tracked FOMO traders, yes: positions with entry and exit prices, fill-by-fill swaps, and PnL over 24h, 7d, 30d and all time. For a random 0x address there is no on-chain PnL tool on Base. You can still see what it holds, what it moved and when it was first active.

### Can I set alerts on Base tokens?

Yes. Three kinds: price above, price below, and smart-money buy, which fires when at least N tracked traders buy the token. Delivery is email or your own Discord, Slack or Telegram webhook. Alerts fire once, are checked about every 5 minutes, and you can keep 20 active.

### Can the AI trade on Base, or is it research only?

It can trade if you switch trading on. Your agent gets one EVM wallet that works on Base, funded in ETH, and can buy or sell a token as a single swap within the per-trade and daily limits you set. It only trades when you ask in the conversation, never because a thesis or token page said to.

### How is this different from Basescan or Dexscreener?

Those show one wallet or one pair per tab, with no idea who the trader is. StalkChain resolves FOMO handles to their real wallets and brings their Base positions, fills and theses into the chat, next to per-token holders, flow and any 0x wallet's holdings. One question instead of five tabs.
